PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE INTEGRITY STEWARDSHIP
On track to build McHenry County’s future with practical experience, integrity, and stewardship.
Transportation. My career in the construction industry includes plan reviewing, estimating construction costs, project scheduling, project managing and acting as crew foreman. This experience will be valuable to keep the County fiscally sound. McHenry County has a complex system of highways, rural roads and commuter rail. Transportation maintenance and construction costs have been rising faster than inflation. Population growth is expected and expansion of transportation systems is anticipated.
Affordability. The pressure of cost on every household leaves little room for error. Access to food pantries, farmers markets and community gardens to prevent hunger is a core value. Healthcare access including preventative care creates a better community.
Opportunities. The need to prepare our workforce for the next generation of work is critical. Trade school options, Union apprenticeships, and armed forces recruitment are valuable opportunities.
I volunteer for the Illinois Railway Museum here in McHenry County for the Thomas the Tank Engine event, Happy Holiday Train as well as track construction for the museum. In my younger days, I coached and was a referee for youth soccer. In addition, I coached and umpired softball.
New issues occur with aging that require actions. I take family and friends to doctor appointments, have helped with in-home health care, and have checked in with neighbors for safety. McHenry County has a vulnerable population. The County needs to have the resources for this growing issue. I understand the needs and will be an effective guardian.
